29 – Into the depths

Gwenn instinctively closes her eyes, but no contact with water; she discovers that she is in a huge transparent tunnel that sinks into the waves. She perceives the sound of water movements against the walls that surround her.

She is still surrounded by this white light that blinds her, despite her safety glasses. But she makes out a strange flora with huge shapeless masses which swim, but have wings that enable them to propel themselves quickly in the direction they desire. There are also small things that sometimes catch hold of the walls by kind of multicoloured suckers which change color with the movement of water. Their shapes are modified to merge with the water movements and, probably, to escape to predators. But the landscape changes gradually as the tunnel penetrates into the depths. The light is still present, but the monsters have disappeared and have given way to what could be similar to corals. But they move quickly and produce waves into the deep and calm waters. Gwenn leaves the main tunnel and notices that innumerable tunnels branch out until out of sight. The chair stops at the entrance of a tunnel. Gwenn hesitates, then slowly leaves her chair. The ground is not materialized, but she feels to move forward on something solid.

Yet every step needs her great efforts, she gets out of breath and her heart rate accelerates dangerously. Without seeing anything, she feels a presence nearby…
